Studs and Charcoal

Fashion + Style
Most of you all should know by now that I’m into fashion.
I’ve posted designers’ collections and street style photos. I even have a new style feature that will be coming very soon. I’ve done all of this without showing you my own style…until now.
“Oh, so now NIA SPEAKS is a fashion blog?” Absolutely not.
NIA SPEAKS will always stick to its original purpose; but remember, I’m a versatile blogger. I want to post things that interest me and possibly others.
In fact, I’ve always wanted to post what I wear; I just rarely had the patience to actually do a shoot.
Plus, I don’t like being the object of a photograph. I’m more comfortable with being the behind the lens. I studied photography, not modeling.
Anyway, I titled this post “Studs and Charcoal” because I studded stuff and my Chuck Taylors are of the Charcoal variety.
Originally, the denim vest was a long-sleeve denim shirt from Forever 21, but I got bored with it. Boredom led to cutting off the sleeves and sticking gunmetal studs in it.
Studs, spikes, or anything similar are among the things I adore. You won’t believe how many things I’ve studded. Shirts, shoes, you name it.
Those Chuck Taylors have also been studded with silver studs. It was a grand old time.
By no means can this one outfit completely describe my style. This was actually more of a chill day. I would say my style is varied…or versatile. I could wear studs today, color block tomorrow, wear a suit the next day, and still feel equally comfortable. I actually feel most comfortable in a cute business suit. I’ve been wearing suits for as long as I can remember. Childhood was a good time.
To my surprise, my socks received the most compliments compared to the entire outfit. And here I thought the socks were the least noticeable detail.
Yes, the photo below and the first photo are the same photo.
HUGE SHOUT OUT to my friend and now new photographer and colleague, VENESHIA G.
