I Like Your Style: Mr. Talented

Fashion + Style Interviews

Mr. Talented is a beautiful soul. Some of you may know that I’ve been a fan of this FIT student and entrepreneur since I first saw his MRT bow-tie (a bow-tie I now OWN! YES!) in 2011. Since then, I’ve come to learn that he has such a friendly, loving, and lovable spirit.

He has been kind to me personally. He has given me advice directly and indirectly. I am daily inspired by him, as he has such a refreshing outlook on life. I am grateful that I am able to call him my friend. I adore him, and, hopefully, you will as well. Enjoy his interview.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in The Empire State. New York City.

What are you studying/doing for a living?

I study Textile Surface Design. I collect currency for a living.
Any hobbies?

I enjoy walking and painting. If I had a girlfriend, I would love to create memories with her.
What does style mean to you?

Style, to me, is the freedom of expression.
What words would you use to describe your style?

I decided to take a break from fashion because my style was too intimidating. I attract too much attention, which I disliked.
Where are your favorite places to shop?

I shop wherever my eyes and legs take me.

Do you have any favorite fashion icons or designers?

I really look up to Nigo. He allowed me to work for his company in 2007, and I am forever grateful.
With regard to style, where do you get your inspiration?

My inspiration comes from my mind. I love fashion. It makes me feel so incredible and extraordinary.
Is there one article of clothing you couldn’t live without?

I can’t live without my Goyard messenger bag and wallet.

Any life advice, parting words, or final thoughts?

Take your time. Life is long for people with great intentions. Love yourself and appreciate everything you do.

I can’t wait to do a photo shoot with this man someday. Thank you, Mr. Talented, for being my first male feature!

He's a cool dude… I met him yesterday walking down the street in Midtown. Such a kindred spirit he told about his love for art and told me to look him up. I was telling him about how most black people aren't into art… He just looked at me and said "I'm trying to change that. And I said "when you go to the museums we are the minority"…. With such a vibrant positive personality he will go far in the art world. Nice Blog Nia… Thank you…
