My song of the month is “Unbreakable Smile” by Tori Kelly. This song has been on repeat since at least May. “Unbreakable Smile” is Kelly’s single from her debut album of the same title, coming out 23 June!
“Unbreakable Smile” is a song about Kelly staying true to herself and remaining positive despite what people may say. In the song, she says that she will not change who she is as a person or artist just to become more successful in the music industry. I find this song to be particularly encouraging, knowing that Kelly is getting increasingly more popular, but has decided to not allow the fame or industry to break her or taint her art.
The song is upbeat, catchy, and fun. La da da da da dee is perfect for the summer. Enjoy.
