Song of the Month: “A Nu Day” by Nuttin’ But Stringz

Music

My song of the month is “A Nu Day” by Nuttin’ But Stringz. Nutting’ But Stringz was a violin duo made up of brothers Tourie and Damien Escobar. The two hail from Jamaica, Queens, studied at Julliard, and played a mix of classical music, hip-hop, R&B, and jazz.

“A Nu Day” is a song from N.B.S.’s only album, Struggle from the Subway to the Charts, released in 2006. The combination of strings, voices, claps, and other instruments just screams chill. “A Nu Day” is the perfect summer song for a car ride, and its positive vibes will make any day a little bit better.

Enjoy.
