Book Recommendation: Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

I laughed out loud – several times. I better understood Rhimes’ shows. I rexamined my life and myself. I felt like I gained a new friend. I learned so much about someone of whom I have been a long fan. And I learned about myself, too.

The book is inspirational, it is honest, and it is relatable. It’s relatable
– even though I am not an extremely successful writer or Hollywood
powerhouse,
even though no one has watched any movies or TV shows I have created (I
have not even written any – only articles, poems, stories, essays, and plays), even
though I am not a mother, even though my influence is a lot smaller. It’s relatable –
because I am introverted, because I make up characters in head, because
Cristina Yang was also my best friend, and because of so many other things.

If you want to read about someone’s journey of taking control, changing, and saving her life one decision at a time and you want to do the same thing, read this book. It is so worth it.

Thank you, Shonda Rhimes, for such a gift. I am incredibly inspired . . . and a little nervous, but ready for my Year of Yes.
