My song of the month is “Glory” by Common and John Legend. Common is a hip-hop artist and Legend is a singer-songwriter, and the two of them collaborated on “Glory,” the theme song for the 2014 movie Selma. I am all here for this song, and I thought it’d be appropriate to share in light of Black History Month and the attention the song has received. The lyrics essentially speak on…

My song of the month is “Dreams” by BOOTS featuring Beyoncé. BOOTS is a producer, singer, rapper, writer, and musician who started getting recognition after contributing to Beyoncé’s self-titled album, as he produced nine songs on it. “Dreams” is a slow and relaxing R&B jam. The song is a bit repetitive, but it’s so chill that I don’t mind it; and Beyoncé’s vocals on this track are great, to boot.…

MusicMy song of the month is “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams. Even though Christmas has passed, this song automatically puts me in this holiday spirits from the 1st of December to the 31st. If I heard this song mid-June, I’d still be looking for Christmas lights and be ready for hot chocolate. This song is such a classic. I love how everything from the…
Continue ReadingMy song of the month is “Last Love Song” by ZZ Ward. I first discovered Ward when I heard this song during an episode of Switched at Birth. I looked up the song immediately to listen to it and haven’t stopped playing it since. The ballad is from Ward’s album, Til the Casket Drops. “Last Love Song” is like a farewell letter to a past lover; and the lyrics are so…
Continue ReadingMy song of the month is “La La Latch” by Pentatonix. The song is on Pentatonix’s EP PTX Vol. III, and it’s a mashup of “La La La” by Naughty Boy and “Latch” by Disclosure. The common denominator these two songs have is Sam Smith, as the vocalist features on both tracks. First off, Pentatonix, currently one of my favorite bands, is an a cappella group (props), and I think they did…
Continue ReadingMy uncle has a German artist named Paul Cless. Here’s the music video for his song “Masterpiece.” What did you think? Let me know in the comments! I like it. The song has a relaxed feel to it, and Paul’s voice is smooth! He’s good-looking, too. 🙂 I really like his hair. Check him out at http://www.paul-cless.com. Have a good day! P.S. I’m really excited because yesterday TYRA BANKS liked my…
Continue ReadingATTENTION ALL READERS! I need you ALL to watch this video. My drum corp did a flash mob in the library last week. Check it out! (If you’re looking for me. I’m on the quads with an awesome multicolored oxford shirt.) What’d you think? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for watching! =)…
Continue ReadingConsider this a “Until I Get Myself Together” post. Once upon a time, I was bored and had time on my hands. I tried to make a replica of Naturally 7’s “768 (Nonstrumental).” I posted Naturally 7’s video HERE in 2010. iMovie was definitely not my friend. In order to do the whole picture-in-picture thing, I had to export and import multiple times, causing the video playback to degrade each…
Continue ReadingIf you read the “About Nia” section, you would know that I played the quads in a drum corp for four years. With that being said, you shouldn’t be surprised that the following quad solo blows my mind every time I watch it. I saw this video of Tim Jackson some time ago, but I just recently came across it again. It’s still amazing. It would be insanely nice if…
Continue ReadingEarlier this week, as I was jammin’ to some Regina Carter and Yo-Yo Ma, I realize something. I hadn’t listened to a violin duo by the name of Nuttin’ But Stringz for a long time! That quickly changed, and I decided I should share some of their awesomeness with you all; plus, it’s been a while since I’ve given you all a Music post. Taken from nuttinbutstringz.com: “Siblings Tourie and…
