Dealing With the You You Hate

Uncategorized

We all are awesome. Regardless of our awesomeness, we all have some part or parts of us that we hate.

We hate how we look. We hate a certain characteristic we have. We hate some of the things we’ve done.

I deal with the Nia I hate on the regular. I like myself overall; but I hate that I’m a procrastinator, I hate that my gums are black, I hate that my patience is thin, and I hate that there are parts of me that I hate.

We have to leave self-hate behind. How?

First, you have to acknowledge and accept the fact that there are parts of you that you hate. Afterwards, you must commit to improving what you have control over.

If you don’t already, exercise, eat healthy, or take a bath. Sometimes, feeling better physically helps lead to feeling better emotionally.

Make a list of things you love about yourself.

Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Indulge in happiness.

Eat delicious foods. Pray. Sing.

Dance.

Cry when you need to. Laugh when you want to. Don’t be overly concerned if you end a sentence with a preposition (note to Nia).

No matter how you look, what attribute you have, or what you’ve done, you are awesome.

Look at yourself in the mirror and compliment yourself daily. “You are beautiful. You are talented. You are brilliant. You are fabulous. You are awesome.”

Hate yourself a little less. Love yourself a little more every day.

Best wishes to you.

That definitely helps, but for me prayer has done so much in helping with those characteristics I'm not so fond about.
