I Like Your Style: Kyndall Powell-Hicks

Fashion + Style Interviews

If I had to describe Kyndall, I’d simply say she’s cool. She’s gorgeous and effortlessly funny. Her hair flows perfectly, and she probably knows enough to have at least half of an M.D. (she literally SAVED A LIFE once!). Oh, did I mention that Kyndall has impeccable style? With a pair of shades, a bag in tow, and a fun personality, Kyndall is the friend you want to have. Enjoy her interview.

Where are you from?

I’m from Orange County, California
What are you studying/doing for a living?

I am a student at Oakwood University. Major is International Studies/Pre-law.
Any hobbies?

This might sound weird but sometimes when I’m in the mall, I go to different stores and put together outfits and leave them all together in the store. One time, I saw a girl pick up and buy the whole outfit I left behind. I do it so much it became a hobby.
What does style mean to you?

Style is a state of mind. You don’t need clothes for style. Whoever you are, your style will show that. Style is like a physical manifestation of a person’s personality.
What words would you use to describe your style?

I think my style changes a lot. Sometimes, I’m a bit of a classic hipster, then boho, then preppy; but mostly I’d call myself classically trendy… like heels, skinny jeans, overcoats, scarfs, big sunglasses, see-through tops, and high-low hemlines.
Where are your favorite places to shop?

I love this new app “Wanelo!” Zara, Charlotte Russe, H&M, Cotton On, Urban Outfitters, Top Shop, and Mod Cloth.
Do you have any favorite fashion icons or designers?

Mary Kate and Ashley, Kim Kardashian, and well… not a lot of people. I love love love Zack Pozen and Chanel.
With regard to your style, where do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from people around me, Vogue.com, and I look at a lot of other countries – like South Korea – for their street style.
Is there one article of clothing you couldn’t live without?

I cannot live without a button-down, high-low, see-through blouse! And some sunglasses!

Thanks for the interview, Kyndall!
