My song of the month is “India’Song” by the incredibly gifted India.Arie. The song comes from Arie’s third studio album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationships, that was released in 2006. Wow, as I am typing this, I am just realizing and cannot believe that was 10 years ago.
I love this song. I sing to it all of the time. Arie’s vocals are smooth as always, and coupled with the instruments, give “India’Song” a mellow feel. The song’s message continues to resonate with me 10 years later – remembering history, calling out racism, wanting to go “where the wind calls my name.” If you have not before, take a listen.
